COVID-19 Information for 2020-2021 School Year
Governor Brown made a disappointing and frustrating announcement about Oregon schools. The state of Oregon is now requiring new health and testing metrics to be met by each county before its schools can reopen for on-campus learning. These new metrics currently do not permit any Oregon school to open beyond distance learning; this may change of course by the start of the school year.
Damascus Christian School and Damascus Community Church remain committed to providing an excellent education built upon the foundation of the Bible through the process of discipleship for our students. We are also committed to traditional, in-person education and will continue to investigate all avenues to safely provide this option to our school families.
This will be a living document, which provides information on both metrics to met for DCS to open and operational requirements when open on campus.

New OSAA Athletic Season Calendar - The Oregon School Activities Association (OSAA) shifted its traditional Fall sports season contests to begin in March under a new 2020-21 school activities calendar approved by the association’s Executive Board on Wednesday. The Board also voted to waive current out-of-season coaching policies to allow for student participation during the Fall (Season 1). Participation will be at the discretion of the local school district in those activities allowed per directives from the Governor’s Office, Oregon Health Authority (OHA) and Oregon Department of Education (ODE).
