February 27 - March 4, 2023 Eagle Eye News

We hope you took advantage of the snow days last week and had fun playing in the beautiful winter wonderland God provided for us! We have a number of things to reschedule and make up this week in a short amount of time.  Please take a moment to look over the Eagle Eye for all the updates. We will make up our dress up days and spirit week activities Monday and Tuesday.

Have you heard our DCS Concert Choir yet? In just their second year, they are growing by leaps and bounds and sounding better than ever! Last week, they competed in the small schools festival in Tigard and did an amazing job, receiving strong marks and some great feedback to set new goals and continued growth.  A number of choir members will be competing this Saturday in the solo and ensemble competition. Please pray for our students as they go out and represent both our school and Jesus.

Our JH Boys Basketball Playoff Round 1 has also been rescheduled for Monday. Come cheer our boys on. The winner advances to the final on Tuesday!

Our Varsity Girls Basketball came up with the Substate Round 2 Win Saturday night over the Trout Lake Mustangs to secure a spot in the top 8.  The team will be preparing to head to Baker City for the culminating State Tournament this week.  The sendoff will be Tuesday afternoon, bracket play will start on Wednesday and conclude on Saturday.  Please pray for safety for our girls and families as they travel across the state this week. Friday is a No School day as we will have many families and staff who will be travelling over to support our Lady Eagles.  Also, please pray for our girls’ health as they are heading into this week with some injuries and illness. Pray for speedy recoveries and that, regardless of the outcome of games, they would let the light of Christ shine through them in word and action this week.

Can’t make the trip out to Baker and want to follow along with the team? Check out the bracket schedule on OSAA and catch the games through the NFHS Network where they will be live broadcast (subscription required).
