Track season is now underway with the first track meet at the end of this week! Check out the Eagle Eye for all the details.

Senior Spotlight - Emily Werth

Emily has been a DCS Eagle for the last 12 years. When reflecting on her years at DCS and in anticipation of moving on to the next chapter in her life, she says she will miss her classmates and friends the most. The DCS community has brought a family dynamic to her life with friendships and relationships that have been very meaningful. In recent months, she feels that God has made her path clear beyond DCS with both college and relationships.  She says she has learned that “I don’t need anything else but Him.” Emily will be leaving for Montana State University in August where she will be studying Animal Sciences as her major and Agricultural Business as a minor. Emily has also committed to being on the University’s livestock judging team. Please pray for Emily as she finishes this part of her journey and embarks on the next phase.

Lost and Found Overflows! We have more lost items than found ones and our lost and found area cannot contain it all.   Over the next two weeks, be watching for the lost and found items to be displayed on tables in the courtyard. Once we reach the end of the quarter (3/24), any remaining items will become lost and gone as they will be donated to a local charity.

Parenting with Love & Logic – DCS would like you to know about a very valuable parenting class being offered in our local community. Many of our staff have found value in these techniques for both our own children and within the classroom and would highly recommend parents take the series of classes that will begin April 5th. The Damascus Christian Education Foundation is now accepting application for the Keaton Coffey Memorial Scholarship through April 15, 2023.

The Keaton Coffey Memorial Scholarship Fund was established in 2013 to honor the ultimate sacrifice Corporal Keaton Coffey gave in the service of his country while serving in Afghanistan as a military working dog handler. Keaton Coffey was a graduate of DCS who was actively engaged in serving and leading during his 13 years at DCS.

This financial assistance is intended for those students that understand and agree with the concept of sacrifice and service. It is for students in good standing, that are focused on a future career in a service-oriented area like first responders, military or missions-oriented non-profit.  Applicants that have a heart for service in either their community, church or school are also considered.  If your student fits into any of these categories, please have them complete an application.

To learn more about Keaton Coffey and apply for this service-oriented scholarship, students entering 7-12th grades can fill out the electronic application under the Keaton Coffey heading. https://dcef4you.org/keaton-coffey/

If you have any additional questions about the Keaton Coffey Memorial Scholarship or have problems with the online form, please email Hannah.r.rankin@gmail.com.
