Raid your change jar, check under the couch cushions and the floorboards in your car for any spare change so you can support our Home Economics class as they sell their fresh baked goodies on Monday night.

Our Junior High Track Team competed in their district championships last week.  For a small team, they did a fantastic job with the girls team taking 2nd and the boys team 4th overall.  In addition, they broke 9 different school records and have 6 athletes that have qualified to compete at the Oregon Middle School Meet of Champions in Corvallis on Wednesday, May 24th.

Senior Spotlight: Peter Gilbert

After completing his 6th grade year in a local public school, Peter and his family knew they wanted something different for his education and made the decision to join the DCS family in the 7th grade. Peter has enjoyed his years at DCS and has favorite memories surrounding multiple events like the Washington DC trip, Drama Productions, High School Formal, etc. Peter has valued time with teachers, classmates and the DCS people and community as a whole and will miss this aspect of his time here the most.  He says it will be weird to move on to the next phase of life without them. Peter is planning on attending Reed College in the fall but is still undecided on a course of study. He says he will “just figure it out when he gets there.” Peter has not considered himself to be a very religious person in previous years, but during this year he has encountered God in a new way, is seeing Him become more real to him and is taking Christianity and what that means to him personally more seriously. He feels that his time here at DCS has had a definite impact on how he views himself, the world, and life in general.
