November 6-11, 2023 - Eagle Eye News

We have made it through the first quarter of the school year! Congratulations!  This week is another shortened week. Please make sure you are clear on the school/no school days. Elementary (Pre-K through 6th grade) does not have school on Thursday due to elementary parent-teacher conferences, however, secondary (7th-12th) has school as normal that day. Additionally, Friday is a no school day for all in observance of Veteran’s Day. Elementary Basketball games get underway this week! Check out all the week’s details in the Eagle Eye.  You may also want to take a minute to read about the cool things that are taking place each week in What’s Happenin’ at DCS.

Parents! The DCS Student Council would like to offer fun and interactive childcare this Thursday when you come for parent-teacher conferences. You will be able to check your child(ren) in with a student council member and enjoy your parent-teacher conference time stress-free! Childcare will be available from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM.

Wednesday of this week our PaperPie Online Book Fair begins!  It will run from Wednesday, November 8th to Wednesday, November 15th.  PaperPie is the company that publishes both Kane Miller and Usborne books.  Thursday, November 9th we will have teacher wish lists and books available for families to browse in the church foyer during elementary parent-teacher conferences.

Bless a child this Christmas season through OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD! OCC Shoeboxes are available in the church lobby. Please take as many as you like! Instructions on how to pack a box as well as other OCC information will also be available. This can be a fun family project! Shoeboxes need to be returned to the church by November 10th. Let's bless lots of children this Christmas with a Shoebox!! CLICK HERE for more information about Operation Christmas Child.
