February 26-March 1, 2024 - Eagle Eye News

This week we have Leap Day…a day that only exists once every four years. Perhaps on this leap day you can ask the Lord what leap of faith He is asking you to take this year.

This week is also a transition week between winter sports and spring sports. Track and Field practices and Boys Volleyball are getting underway, while we wrap up the last of the basketball games Monday and Tuesday. Here’s a look at this week’s edition of the Eagle Eye for all the details.

Our DCS Concert Choir competed in the District 2 Vocal Solo and Ensemble this last Saturday, where we had 9 soloists and 2 ensemble groups compete. Everyone did a fantastic job with several people commenting on how impressive our numbers were in comparison to our school size. Special congratulations to our small mixed ensemble group, 4you, (Ben McClellan, Eli Argubright, Laelie Rasmussen & Addie Buller) for taking 1st place and securing a spot at state! In addition to that, our large mixed ensemble group of 16 students, Cantati, placed 2nd and are 1st alternate to state, as well as soloist Addie Buller placed 3rd and is 2nd alternate for state. Great Job Everyone!

JH Girls Basketball Round 1 of the Metro Christian League Playoffs was postponed last week due to a shortage of referees. That game is rescheduled for tomorrow, Monday. Our DCS girls are the #1 seed. If they win tomorrow, they advance to the championships. DCS is hosting the JH Metro Christian League Basketball Championships on Tuesday with the girls’ game first, followed by the boys.
