March 18-22, 2024 - Eagle Eye News

One week until Spring Break! Here is this week’s edition of the Eagle Eye for a look at the week as well as what’s to come when we return.

Elementary Parent/Teacher Conferences are this Friday, March 22nd. There is no school that day for elementary grades Kindergarten through 6th. 7th – 12th grade students are in school on Friday as normal.

DCS Student Council will be offering free childcare again in the gym for your school-age children during your elementary conference time this Friday. Sign Up Here!

As staff, we see the Lord moving in many small ways each week at DCS. This last week several things came to fruition, and it was exciting to see the growth in our students. Our DCS Chapel Ministry Team (CMT) Leadership group spent part of the week up in Federal Way, WA at the ACSI Leadership and Apologetics conference. This group shined brightly as they worshipped with over 900 students, lead small group discussions, talked with speakers and Christian school sponsors, as well as had some amazing CMT group time together in worship, bible study, and more.

Our secondary Missions Club has been working on a food drive. This weekend missions club students went door to door within our DCS neighborhood with the intent to both collect non-perishable food for the drive as well as connect with our neighbors and ask how we can pray for them.

To cap it all off, the Masterpiece dinner and auction was a wonderful evening where our DCS gym was transformed into a formal venue with amazing food, a spectacular display of auction items, sweet fellowship throughout the room, and friendly bidding wars. In all, God is So Good and we are So Blessed!

When we return from Spring Break, we will hit the ground running as we kick off Missions Month! Starting Monday, April 1st, Student Council will be running an all-school drive to benefit Boxes of Love, a ministry supporting babies and children entering the foster care system. Check out the Flier! More details to follow.

Mark your calendar, Student Council will also be hosting another Friday Flick after school event for elementary students, Friday, April 5th from the end of the school day until 5:00 PM! Details and Registration for this event will be coming soon!

Attention High School Students! You can now purchase your DCS Spring Formal tickets online! Student Council will also continue to sell tickets during lunch. You will not want to miss A Night on the Mediterranean. Click Here to get your tickets!

Yearbook needs your photos! If you have photos of school-related events such as field trips, class parties, sporting events, theater or choir performances, etc - we'd love to include those in the yearbook! Photos can be submitted to jenn.lott@damascuscc.org. We appreciated a great response last year and were thrilled with how many students and events we were able to include in the yearbook! We look forward to including the many memories that are submitted this year! - Yearbook Staff
