Eagle Eye News - February 16-21, 2026

Happy Valentine’s Day, DCS Family!

As you celebrate today – whether with friends, family, or someone special – we invite you to pause and reflect on the greatest gift of love every given: Jesus dying on the cross for us, “But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” – Romans 5:8, and how we are called to “walk in love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.” – Ephesians 5:2

We hope everyone enjoys a restful and restorative 3-day weekend! Just a reminder that there is no school on Monday for Presidents’ Day.

With so many students, staff, and families currently battling illness, we kindly encourage everyone to follow the sick student protocol. If your student is not well enough to attend school, they should also remain home from all extracurricular activities, including sports practices and games.

Please also remember to email the school office at dcs@damascuscc.org in the morning with all attendance notifications. If your student is out for multiple days, we ask that you email each day of their absence.

Thank you for your cooperation in helping keep our campus safe and healthy!

We have a lot going on next week and coming up! Check out what’s on deck in this edition of the Eagle Eye.

A huge thank you to all who contributed to our food drive for AMEN ministries. Together, we donated 707 items, enough to create 25 specialty boxes for veterans and military families in need. Congratulations to our 4th grade and 10th grade classes for bringing in the most items – each class has earned a pizza party!

DCS is turning 50! To celebrate our 50th anniversary, every student and staff member will receive a free commemorative T-shirt in honor of this exciting milestone. Please use the link below to indicate the T-shirt size(s) needed for your student(s):

If you would like to purchase additional items for family members, T-shirts, sweatshirts, hats, and beanies are also available for purchase.

The Damascus Christian Education Foundation is now accepting applications for the Keaton Coffey Memorial Scholarship.

Established in 2013, this scholarship honors DCS graduate Corporal Keaton Coffey, who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving his country in Afghanistan. The scholarship is awarded to students who demonstrate a heart for service and sacrifice and who are interested in service-oriented paths such as first response, military service, missions, or nonprofit work.

Students in grades 7–11 may apply. Applications are due by April 6.  Click here for the application and instructions.

Tax-deductible donations to the Keaton Coffey Memorial Scholarship Fund (KCMF) or Damascus Christian Education Foundation (DCEF) Tuition Assistance Fund may be written to DCEF or KCMF mailed to Damascus Christian School, 14251 SE Rust Way, Damascus, OR 97089.
