May 2-6, 2022 Eagle Eye

Check out the current Eagle Eye edition for this week’s schedule, important upcoming events and read on for more announcements and information. Spring Fine Arts Fair and Music Concerts are this week!  Make sure you know what nights your students are performing and involved.

Our DCS Choir has had an amazing first year under the direction of Marisa Overstreet.  If you haven’t had the chance to hear them yet, they will be performing tomorrow night at DCS for the Secondary Fine Arts Fair and Music Concerts! In addition to their concerts, they competed as a choir and some students individually at districts.   The following received these placements:

The Choir – Large Mixed Ensemble, 1st Place

Ben McClellan – Baritone, 2nd alternate for State

Noelle Prodan – Alto, 1st alternate for State and moved on to compete at State.

Track season so far has included almost every kind of weather, including snow, hail, freezing cold temps, thunder and lightning, rain and wind and the occasional sun breaks. If you can handle whatever the weather might bring, come out and watch our athletes compete before the season comes to an end! Junior High Track will wrap up this week and next with sub districts and districts.   High School Track will have districts next week and qualifying athletes will move on to state the following week. We have several athletes currently ranking top 5 in 1A State.  Check it out on athletic.net.

We are excited to partner again with 1st Day School Supplies for good quality, convenient, no-hassle school supply kits! Our Lost and Found is overflowing beyond capacity!  Please take the time to stop by and try to find anything that belongs to your family.  The next time we have a few rain-free days in a row, we will put all lost and found items out on tables in the courtyard.

Calling all toddlers and preschoolers!!  Join us for story time on Friday, May 13th at 8:45 am (right after school drop off) or at 10:00 am in the friendship center. We will be reading a story and doing a fun project with your toddlers/preschoolers! We’ll also provide a snack and give you an opportunity to check out some books. Questions?
