From all walks of life people are joining in various community activities available at Damascus Community Church. Community Groups, Care Groups, Fellowship Dinner Groups and events in and around the community of Damascus all help each of us grow.
One of the best ways to get connected with other adults at Damascus is by visiting a Community Group. Below is a list of our Community Groups, the time they meet, and a short description.
CROSS CONNECTION (9 AM – ROOMS 101-102)
Lead by Chris Strong, one of our elders, this group is sure to dive deep! Cross Connection is a group committed to fellowship and study. They are currently going through the book of Hebrews. Past studies have included The Gospel in Life by Tim Keller and the Ten Commandments.
CHRISTIANS IN ACTION N (9 AM – LIBRARY)
Christians in Action North Group meets every Sunday at 9 AM in the Library. Led by Jim DeYoung, a retired Western Seminary professor who excels in the original languages, this group is sure to ask the tough questions!
CHRISTIANS IN ACTION S (9 AM – ROOMS 103-104)
Lead by Phil and Donna Blake, Christians in Action South Group loves to fellowship over coffee and cookies while they support one another in prayer and hear the teaching of the Word of God. Currently, they are alternating weeks in hearing Leviticus taught by Dr. Jack Meadows and James taught by Asa Hart.
YOUTH GOSPEL PROJECT (9 AM – ROOM 105)
Lead by Jonah Carpenter, Damascus Student Ministry is journeying through the entire Bible, discovering how it is one seamless story finding its climax and fulfillment in Jesus Christ. Each week, Jonah or one of our background-checked volunteers leads the study. Active participation and questions are encouraged!
HOMELAND (10:30 AM – MODULAR 5)
Lead by Mitch and LeAnn Teixeira, the Homeland group gathers during the second service hour and are currently hearing from retired missionaries Bill and Sharon Wooten. In November, they plan to move into a new study on truth and worldview. Come join them for coffee and biscuits and fellowship!
HERITAGE (10:30 AM – FRIENDSHIP CENTER)
Lead by Wayne Hayes, the Heritage Group is a group that is known for their love of prayer and fellowship. They intercede for one another and the larger church body. Come to hear testimonies of God’s faithfulness and to be encouraged in fellowship with solid Christian leaders.
JUNCTION ADULT STUDY (4:15 PM – AUDITORIUM)
Lead by Isaiah Webster and Zach Stouder during our kids Sunday night program Junction, adults can discover from God’s Word that your life does have a profound and revolutionary purpose. God made us for Himself and to be about the work that He is doing in our lives, in His church, and in His world.
